CONSIGNOR FAQ's

My gown hasn't been dry cleaned, can I still bring it in?


We are happy to now offer in-house cleaning for all our Bridal Gowns. Prices may vary from gown to gown. ($100-$200) We will charge you for any drycleaning needed when you bring your dress in to consign.




How much money will I get back for my consigned items?


There is a 60/40 split 60% to boutique & 40% to the consigner. We strive to attain the highest amount for your items. Minimum amounts may be discussed at the time of your consignment appointment. You will receive payment once the items have been paid in full and have left the boutique.




Do you accept accessories for consignment?


Yes. We consign all of the following items that are bridal related:

  • Veils
  • Jewelry - Earrings, bracelets, necklaces
  • Hair Pieces
  • Purses
  • Shawls
  • Tiaras
  • Belts/Sashes




How long do you keep the gown or accessories I bring in?


We will keep your gown or accessories in our showroom for a minimum 1 year term. All items will remain in our inventory until they are sold or requested BY Ashbury Bridal to be picked up. Your items will never be donated without your approval. If items are requested by the consigner to be picked up AFTER the one year term, there will a $50 administration fee applied. If items are requested to be pick up by consigner BEFORE end of contract term, a $125 administration fee will be applied.




How will I be paid for my items that sell?


Once your item is sold and has left the boutique, you will be mailed the money by cheque to the address provided on the contract, without notice. We can also e-transfer the amount for a $5 surcharge, if you make those arrangements prior. Please update information by e-mail if you have moved, changed last name and phone number. Ashbury is NOT responsible for returned mail due to wrong contact info. Reissued cheques will have a $60 administration fee applied.




What kind of gowns do you consign?


We consign bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and all formal wear.




When will I know if my dress has sold?


Due to the high volume of dresses and consigners, a cheque will be mailed to your address on file without notification. Be sure to keep your address and phone # updated. Please only request updates after the end of your contract (1Year). If you have not heard or received a cheque from Ashbury Bridal your dress is still in our inventory and is still sellable. We kindly ask that you not request updates by phone or email before the 1 year contract term.




Waiting for a payout?


We always appreciate patience while payouts are being prepared as they are only estimated dates. Brides have a timeline to pay their bridal gowns off and delays may happen when we are waiting for FINAL payment. All gowns remain on premises until paid in FULL. Once gown has been paid in full, a cheque (or etransfer) will be scheduled (up to 4 weeks to process final payment)

Do I need an appointment to try on Bridal gowns?


Ashbury Bridal is by appointment only but may have same day appointments available. We kindly ask you to book an appointment on-line, under BRIDAL GOWN APPOINTMENT. OR you may text 250-469-2371 with your name and time availability for a possible same day appointment. We are a full service boutique and will bring the gowns that are within your budget, size range and styles preferred. Get ready to say YES TO THE DRESS as we have thousands of dresses in our inventory!

Do you have parking?


We are now located at 101-2333 Hunter Road and we have a PARKING LOT with lots of FREE parking!




Do you offer Alterations?


Yes, we have an in-house seamstress that is available for any of the brides that purchase their Bridal gown from our boutique. At this time, we are unable to work on any gowns purchased elsewhere, as we are very, very busy with alteratons from our dresses. If you have purchased your gown from us, and are needing alterations on it, please send us an email and we will get you booked in.




Looking for Bridesmaid, Formal Wear or Mother of the Bride/Groom Attire?


We can help you! Please book an accessory/bridesmaid appointment through our online booking system and we will help complete your look. Let us know in the comments section as much information as possible about what it is you are hoping to find. This will help us prepare for your appointment. Example: size 6-8, one bridesmaid dress, long, in colors blush/pink/nude color tones




Looking for Bridal Accessories?


Please book an accessory appointment through our website and we will help finish off your look! If you want to bring your gown with you (whether your bought from us or not), it can sometimes help to put the dress on and accessorize from there! We have veils, jewelry, hair pieces, tiaras, bridal belts, purses, and shoes to help complete your wedding day look.





COVID QUESTIONS

What are your Covid Policies?


At this moment, we are doing everything to keep our staff and clients safe and healthy! *We ask that everyone wears a mask when entering, and immediately disinfect your hands when entering the boutique. *We have limited the amount of people (staff, clients and their friends/family) into the store at one time. *We are disinfecting surfaces after each interaction, and high touch areas more frequently. *We are hosting less appointments each day, and leaving time in between for sanitizing/disinfecting.




How many people are allowed to attend the Bridal appointment?


At the current time, we may allow the Bride + 3 Guests into our bridal appointment room. Any others that wish to attend, may join virtually on ZOOM, through on our Big Screen TV and watch you say "YES TO THE DRESS"!




What can I do to help?


A few things that we are asking our guests to be aware of to help keep us all healthy & safe: *We ask clients that have had cold/flu symstoms or that have recently travelled abroad to re-schedule their appointment or change to a ZOOM appointment online. *Avoid touching anything unneccessarily, all items will be brought into the room for you. *Bring minimal stuff with you, and leave anything that you don't need, at home or in the vehicle. *No food or drink to be brought into the boutique, bottled water will be provided if needed. *Keep face masks on during the entire appointment if possible




What time should I show up for my appointment?


Our doors will be locked until your scheduled appointment time. Please wait outside on the chairs or in your vehicle until someone comes to the door. Ring the doorbell, at your appointment time, if no one has come to greet you.
